Our TEDx-style program will feature inspirational leaders Gill Hicks, Gary Jubelin and Rachael Robertson.
Gill's devotion to making a personal greater contribution and positive difference to the urgency of building peace was realised when she was made permanently injured in the London terrorist bombings on 7 July 2005.
Much more than a survivor, her presentations focus on topics such as personal confidence and trust, and how having both allows us to make transformative choices. Gill advocates for the growth of a more confident collective/communities, societies and nations. As a finalist for Australian of the Year, her platform was centred on the importance of growing a confident and cohesive Australia.
Gill encourages audiences to take control of change through our ‛choice of how we react and respond’ ... and use it as opportunity.
Homicide detective Gary Jubelin has been credited with solving some of the nation’s most horrific crimes.
During a career which earned him high commendations for policing, he performed duties from covering generalist detective duties to major crime. These included experience in the Armed Hold-Up Squad, Organised Crime Squad, Gangs Squad, Unsolved Homicide and Homicide Squad. He specialised in the field of homicide investigation for 25 years up until his retirement.
Gary led some of the largest, most complex, high-profile investigations in NSW that varied from gang-land killings, serial murderers, sexually-motivated murders, domestic murders and child killers — just to name a few.
He retired in 2019 with the rank of Detective Chief Inspector after a 34-year career with the NSW Police Force.
Rachael led the Australian expedition to Davis Station, Antarctica -- the second female to lead a team at the Station and the youngest ever leader.
She managed a team of 18 people through the long, dark, Antarctic winter and through trial and error built a resilient and highly successful team based on the foundation that ‘respect trumps harmony’.
Since returning, Rachael completed her MBA, written two best-selling books, Leading on the Edge and Respect trumps Harmony and has presented her practical teamwork tools all around the world.
